Swim
Comments: I tried to take the swim easy. I was hoping there would be a decent swimmer there, that i could draft off of. Unfortunately there was not so i just tried to go as long and smooth and easy as i could . i thought i would see if i could save and extra energy for the bike and run. last 400 yards i tried to kick harder , so that my legs would get some blood flowing in them. I was not dizzy at all , when i stood up out of the water. What would you do differently?: maybe pushed it a little harder. Transition 1
Comments: no complaints. Bike
Comments: i tried to push it. My legs just felt like rocks until about mile 20. I dont know it if was the poor diet, the lack of sleep the week before , or no warm up at all, that hurt my legs. I was definitely hoping to go faster. I got passed by the second guy out of the water right around 3 miles. I need to get my top end speed up. What would you do differently?: Maybe a bike warm up would have been good. I clearly still need more miles and harder work on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: the time must be inaccurate due to the fact that the guy that went into transition right ahead of me and left transition with the same distance ahead of me, had a 1 min 17 sec transition. What would you do differently?: i might put body glide on my feet or inside my shoes. My feet are getting chewed up in different ways every race Run
Comments: i ran about 30 seconds per mile slower than i wanted. I'm not quite sure why. I have not been able to get back to my pace that i ran at Buffalo at any of the races i have ran since. What would you do differently?: My mileage is higher than i have ever ran. I think i need to run harder/faster more so that i can get used to running faster. especially right off the bike Post race
Warm down: walk around. Eat. stretch. wade out into the lake. What limited your ability to perform faster: I got very little sleep the whole week before the race. I also ate fairly poorly that same week. I need to figure out the sleep anxiety. Event comments: prior to the race i heard bad things about the race organizers, but they did a really good job. The bike and run courses were not the best i have raced on but not even close the the worst. Last updated: 2010-11-26 12:00 AM
