Pre-race routine:

Had a good nights sleep..ate breakfast (bannana, wheaties fuel and applesauce), Gatorate G and supplement protocol. Chilled with the family and got to race about 45 minute prior.
Event warmup:

Warm-up drills and strides in front of the starting line. Dynamic stretches.

Comments:

Excellent run (PR) great start to 2011..training and pacing was spot on.. goal was 1:24 (stretch goal 1:23). Had to run 6:24 Pace through out...felt strong so I decided to go out early at around 6:15 Pace...Felt nice and steady through Mile 1-4 and then pulled it back an notch for next 6 miles to 6:19 to ensure no blow-up and then turned it on to descend back down 6:15 for rest of the race. Did good job in controlling the controllables (rain weather gear,nutrition, training and pacing) overall right on the money. Snow and rain were really a non- factor as far as I'm concerned.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.

Warm down:

Static Strecth inside and recovery drink.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Maybe could have shaved off half a minute to minute due to extra distance covered as a result of avoiding puddles.

Event comments:

Scenic race caters to 10K and Half Marathon Races...Pre race and post race activities were average and the parking was a litlle disorganized..I'd consider this one an average race with great scenic flat course.
