Swim
What would you do differently?: I need to get better at the swim. I did breast stoke most of the swim, except for the two sand bars I was able to swim/run over. I need to get to the pool much more often and work at being able to do free style. Transition 1
Comments: Don't have time for transition, it is somewhat included in the swim leg time. Bike
What would you do differently?: I need to improve my cadence, and my ability to stay aero. If I could have stayed out of the wind, I might have been able to avoid some of the slowing effect. At least I would like to believe that. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I should have had some of my heed that I had left from the bike before I headed off on the "run." I was so tired from the swim and ride that I could not really run. I tried for a little, but was not able to. My lower back was hurting so bad I couldn't run. I walked the majority of the 4 miles. I was passed on the run to make myself dead last. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: My biggest limit on my performance was myself. I need to be much more consistent with my training. I way to often will blow off my work outs. Event comments: I don't know about the post race activities as by the time I got done, the crews were working at packing p, the rack my bike was on was the only rack left in Transition. The clocks were packed away, and the road cones were also put away for the finish shoot. I found that the race results had been posted for the race, and I didn't get a final time for some reason. I will have to email someone to try and get it corrected. I have the approximate times I put here from my heart rate monitor, so I can try to get the race director to accept that time. Woke up at 5:00 AM and finished packing the care with the things I needed to take with me. Had a bowl of cereal, and left stopping at a WaWa convenience store for some soda and Gatorade. Drove the hour and a half to the race site.
I didn't do enough of a warm up for this event. All I did was walk around and a little bit of stretching.
