Run
Comments: Overall the beginning was a cluster f**k. Just trying to get into the corral was crazy. Anyway, the gun went off and I took off. My main focus was to just keep at a good pace as long as my calf held up. Made it through the first mile at a 7:45 pace, and felt great. Made it to the second mile marker at 15:30, which was right were I wanted to be. And then it happened. Turned the corner to start heading West and my calf started to tighten up. With every stride it got tighter. I didn't know if it was actually pulling (which it did a few weeks ago) or trying to cramp up from the pull. Either way, I knew that if I continued, it was going to get worse. So I pulled up and slowed down. WAY down. Over the last 3 miles, my pace went from sub 8's to over 10's. I knew this was the potential going into the race so I wasn't too bummed. So I'm just going to have to keep working on getting my calf healthy again. What would you do differently?: Not get injured before the race. Post race
Warm down: Found Beth (she missed me finishing) and just started to walk back to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Bad calf. Event comments: Getting too big. Too many people. For me, I'm not certain I'm going to do it again next year. Last updated: 2011-01-05 12:00 AM

Arrived to find out where i needed to be.
Wasn't certain how my calf was going to hold up. So just did an easy run with some minor strides to test it out. Felt pretty good.
