Swim
Comments: Not too bad, considering I haven't swam in over two weeks. Need to get better about getting to the pool, even if the hours are screwed up What would you do differently?: Work on getting to the pool at least twice a week and work on endurance swims Transition 1
Comments: Even with a long run thru the transition, still need to get these down a lot faster. I think T1 and T2 are killing my overall performance, so need to do "Rainmaker" brick practice on these. Need to work on no socks and practice flying mount with the shoes attached. 8th in AG and 74th OA What would you do differently?: See above Bike
Comments: Felt good, hammered right out of the gate, took a GU at 1 mile and hit the water the entire time to keep hydrated. Switched it up with water only this time and seemed to be just fine instead of gatorade/water mix. I soft pedaled a bit in the middle, but picked it up at the end to hammer it home. New seat position seemed ok, just left me with a hot spot in the crotch! What would you do differently?: Just need to do some speed work on the bike now, think I have a good base so just need to hit some sprint intervals Transition 2
Comments: Smashed my hand racking my bike, not good start to T2, was a LONG run back to my rack and I have to get better at T1/T2 to be faster overall. 19 in AG, 141 overall. What would you do differently?: Practice, practice, practice Run
Comments: This result surprised me, figured I was MOP on this but ended up very well, despite low running mileage lately What would you do differently?: Not get hurt, need to strengthen my hip / groin area more Post race
Warm down: Walked around and drank water and gatorade, ate half a chicken sandwich and got my picture taken with a pig! What limited your ability to perform faster: T1/T2 is the main problem, but more running and swimming will help Event comments: Was a good race, fun, great volunteers Last updated: 2011-01-16 12:00 AM

Ate a "Balance bar" for breakfast and drove the 1 hour up to Smithfield
Made sure I stretched my hip / groin area to make sure that it was loose and stretched my arms really well for the swim.
