Pre-race routine:

Got up around 5:45 AM. Jumped in the shower to wake up. Let me tell you..I woke up. The pilot light in the hot water heater must have gone out. COLD SHOWER. I'm awake. Ate 1/3 cup oatmeal w/ 2/3 cup skim milk sprinkled with cinammon and walnuts. Drank cup of coffee to wake up. Drove to meat Dan S at Einstein Bagels on Ford Road. Nice pit stop before heading to race.
Event warmup:

Dan and I took a short warm up run to get loose and stretched bit more around the car. We scampered down a muddy hill to get to the race start. Hide behind the Absopure truck to block the wind. And proceeded to use bathroom about 10 min before race start.
Run
  • 1h 50m 31s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

The wind was in the face on the way out. On the way back, it felt significantly warmer. I shed the long-sleeved shirt to run the the tank.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I ran with Dan who wanted to break 2 hours. I paced him. He ran 1:51.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked to food. We missed the pizza. Darn.... Grabbed a few bananas and a bagel. We stretched inside where there was heat....

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I did not get the weekly volume needed to perform faster. My longest run was 10 miles and did not get the intervals and tempo runs I would have liked.

Event comments:

I will be adding this to calendar. Very nice run. Well organized. I will have to meet up the the Michigan Mafia. They look like they had fun. I did see their grass skirts and started laughing.
