Swim
Comments: averaging 2 minutes per 100 yds is a good pace for me. goggles fogged and couldn't see. Had I had clearer vision it would have been easier to keep my line and wouldn't have swam zig zag. would have cut a significant amount off my time. What would you do differently?: buy goggles that fit me better and don't fog. Transition 1
Comments: They had suit rippers so the wetsuit took no time at all. The time chip malfunctioned so I am guessing at my bike time and transition 1 time. Bike
Comments: Timing Chip did not get me coming out of transition, So i am guess at the bike time. It is somewhere above 18 minutes I believe. Transition 1 took a bit of time for me. Otherwise I felt like I had a pretty good for me. I conserved energy through the headwinds and utilized the tailwinds well. I made up a lot of time here. What would you do differently?: Just need more training on my bike. Probably need to buy a bike first. Transition 2
Comments: no issues since I ride with my running shoes on. What would you do differently?: This is my fastest transition Run
Comments: uphill over the bridge was tough for me. I made up time on the down hill part. took a mile after the bike to get my legs back underneath me but they came. At the end I felt like I had given it pretty close to my all. What would you do differently?: just train more. It'll take time and weight loss. Post race
Warm down: nothing What limited your ability to perform faster: training and weight. This was my first race of the season and was a bit of a reality check for me. My reality is a need to drop 10 - 15 lbs. and I need to put more time in on the run and on the bike. my swim is fine. I will enjoy the run time, not so much the bike time. Since I ma going to continue this, I need to make an investment into a bike. Event comments: Really enjoyed the race. well organized. I think I will do it again next year. stayed at hotel 15 minutes away, woke up about 3:30; showered; ate banana, apple, clif bar; got gear together; got dressed; left hotel about 4:20 and drove to event site. Went to transition to set up and set every thing out, then was finally able to go to the bathroom. brought an extra roll of toilet paper which was a REALLY good idea as they had started to run out by 5 AM. I didn't need it so ended up donating to the cause.
