Swim
Comments: Holy moly I just did that!! OUTSTANDING! I was lookin for a 2.5-3 minute pace per 100 out of the water. Awesome. Didn't even have to work at sighting compared to pool drills.. Kinda busy with multiple encounters with other swimmers, but not bad, all in all much better than expected. What would you do differently?: Swim like that agian:) Transition 1
Comments: Thank goodness for awesome volunteer who helped me with the wetsuit, must have saved a least 2 minutes. What would you do differently?: Work more on getting wetsuit off of heels. Bike
Comments: Views made me feel like I was in Europe on the countryside, Marines were awesome and inspiring, the volunteers made you feel like royalty. What would you do differently?: Push a little harder on bike, and definately refine hydration in cooler temps. Transition 2
Comments: Not a horrible transition, but went slow to avoid penalty by not dismounting bike too early. Felt stiff, not nearly as bad as could have been. Ready to learn more. I am still enjoying how far I just completed...Now time for enjoying the beautiful run we have waited for months to complete. What would you do differently?: Race, more, learn more Run
Comments: We ran good from mile 1-3, then held back a little till last 1/4 mile, then went for a faster finish once I new I had enough to do it. Pacing appeared to be perfect with my present skill level. Sweet! What would you do differently?: Work on more speed now that I know the base is definately there. Post race
Warm down: Keep moving....too afraid to stop. Took a very short swim in pool, then went in Jacuzzi, pool, and did the hot/cold thing. Seemed to help. What limited your ability to perform faster: Present run / bike fitness, although good, but over time can be even better. Event comments: Amazing race, amazing experience that I will remember the rest of my life(first 70.3 distance). Just the chance to enjoy the incredibly inspiring people on and off the course was worth many times more than the price of admission. This is an opportunity that should in my opinion should never be missed. Even though my performance would be considered very slow compared to many others that ran this race I still felt like I was treated like royalty on a cruise ship. The volunteers were awesome and attended to every conceivable need. This experience for me was hard to beat. If you ever get the chance. DO IT! Last updated: 2011-03-23 12:00 AM

Got up @ 4:30. Too nervous for breakfast, just had protein bar and bannana with some milk. warmed up by running on the beach. Was able to loosen up, the run and the view of the beach was able to distract my nervous thoughts. Cool. By now, time to get my act together at transition and get wetsuit on.
Ran on beach, just knew it was going to be an amazing day, in spite of what ever challenge is before me.
