Swim
Comments: Never really found my groove on the swim. For the first time there was a lot of congestion and traffic. Swimming out to the turn buoy was difficult because the sun was in your eyes, once you made the turn it became much better. Getting out of the water I was dizzy, this is the second time out of many races and I cant determine why it happens so sparingly. What would you do differently?: Not sure I could've done anything differently to find a groove. It was just not a good day. Transition 1
Comments: Took a little longer in T1 on purpose as I was a little dizzy. What would you do differently?: Figure out why I get dizzy... Bike
Comments: I didnt feel it on the bike either, I drank early almost immediately but took some of my accelerade instead of water. After that I had a burning in my throat (drank some sea water during the swim). I kept drinkning a lot of water to try get that burning sensation away and I may have over hydrated. Im pleased with the pace, but was hoping for a better time. Again just couldn't find my rythm (See trend forming here). What would you do differently?: Washout with water and not confuse the water bottles would have helped perhaps with the burning in my throat but not finding a rythm is just playing the cards your dealt as best as possible. Transition 2
Comments: Good transition, racked the bike well and put my shoes, grabbed my hat exited...a little long maybe again took more fluid while I transitioned. What would you do differently?: Less fluids Run
Comments: My legs felt like I squatted the day before. Around mile 1 I started getting a pain in my back around the kidney are on the right side. It was definately muscular not from over hydrating. But it really slowed me down. Kept looking for rabbits to motivate me so I could try and pick up my pace. around mile 4.5 I saw Ben. Egged him on to run with me and finish. I knew I could'nt slow down or I would never be able to pick the pace again. Post race
Warm down: Pizza, Beer with some oranges, immediately after finishing I had to use the porto. Man I definately over-hydrated!!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Over-Hydration Limited rythm Event comments: PENALTY!!!! I got a penalty for Abandoning Equipment. WTF is that! I have ALL my equipment. To say that I'm pissed would be like saying RedSox fans are slightly miffed they didnt make the playoffs this year. This blows. I tried to get additional information on what I exactly what I abandoned and they didnt have any details. I was suppose to do it with in 60 minutes of finishing. Thing is I left around 11:30 and my times werent posted yet on the wall. How was I to know I was assessed a penalty!!!! This race is a complete disappointment from the result to the penalty. A complete off day. Last updated: 2006-03-28 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:30am, had breakfast. Yogurt, breakfast bar and water. Took a clifbar with me but never ate it. Loaded the car and drove to the race site.
Set up transition and stretched for 15 minutes. Used the porto, grabbed my wetsuit and swam about 5 minutes in the water.
