Overall Rank = 359/556
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 38/54
Pre-race routine:

Light breakfast of oatmeal and piece of home made bread Amount seemed perfect for the race.
Event warmup:

Light stretching before the race and walk around to warm up.
Swim
  • 11m 50s
  • 528 yards
  • 02m 14s / 100 yards
Comments:

Good swim overall, though it is difficult to not move off course. There is also no feeling of moving forward because you can't see the bottom.
What would you do differently?:

Practice more open water swimming.
Transition 1
  • 04m 4s
Comments:

Quick wetsuit change with help of volunteer.
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on running after coming out of the water. Instead I spent time walking to catch my breath.
Bike
  • 50m 26s
  • 12.5 miles
  • 14.87 mile/hr
Comments:

Wind was tough. Started with a strong headwind (1 mile) then turned and got a strong sidewind on the way out. Wen I came back, there was a slight tailwind except for the end when I got a strong tailwind (that part was fun).
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on going faster on the bike. I did forget to put on my race number for the bike ride.
Transition 2
  • 02m 29s
Comments:

Decent transition. I kept moving both to drop off the bike and to start the run.
What would you do differently?:

Transition went well. Perhaps work on taking shoes off while still on the bike.
Run
  • 29m 28s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 31s  min/mile
Comments:

Good run. Wa tired, but able to keep running throughout the race. Only walked at drink stations.
What would you do differently?:

Happy with results. Would like to start going faster, but happy with how I did.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around and massage.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need to continue training to increase my base even more.

Event comments:

I was happy with the race. It seemed better organized then last year. I particularly liked the speed of the packet pickup and the station to get your race results. Lines went fast.
