Pre-race routine:

I drove early in the morning from Greenfield at around 4:30am. I drank a lot of water and tried to eat oatmeal about an hour before the race. Couldn't really stomache too much because I was a little nervous.
Event warmup:

Did stretches and jogged up and down the road to get my heart rate going.

Run
  • 24m 52s
  • 3 miles
  • 08m 17s  min/mile
Comments:

I shouldn't have worn my under armour. It was chilly the whole morning...but just as we were about to race, the sun came out and it was pretty warm
What would you do differently?:

Not wear under armour

Transition 1
  • 01m 4s
Comments:

I think I went through the transition pretty quickly
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 41m 45s
  • 11 miles
  • 15.81 mile/hr
Comments:

At times, I felt like I just didn't have any power in my legs
What would you do differently?:

I've only been on my bike a few times before this race so I definitely need to put in more hours of training next time

Transition 2
  • 01m 4s
Comments:

It was ok, my legs were definitely feeling the weakness once I got off the bike
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 18m 17s
  • 2 miles
  • 09m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

I needed to stretch my legs before I could start running again. I had pretty much no strength in them for the first half mile; but then I finally got into the groove somewhat.

What would you do differently?:

Do more training on biking and then running. I think that's the hardest part of any multisport.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretching and light jogging

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough training. But then again, this was my first multisport and it is the beginning of the season....so I can only get better :-)

Event comments:

This is my first race and it seemed pretty organized and there was plenty of help on the roads to lead us in the right direction. I was kind of nervous about that part before the race.
