Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:30 am in order to catch bus at 5:30 am for ride over to Staten Island. Got to Staten Island at 7:15 am and had to wait around for 10:40 am start.
Event warmup:

Did not warm up much at all. Just some light stretching.
Run
  • 4h 46m 53s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 10m 57s  min/mile
Comments:

I absolutely fell apart after about mile 15. I started to feel that I wasn't going to be able to hold pace at mile 9 or 10.
What would you do differently?:

I needed more hill training. I also think that my 3 day per week running program does not beat up my legs enough to prepare for the abuse a marathon gives out.
Post race
Warm down:

none, other than the mile+ walk back over to the East side with Captain America.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Major lack of hill training, and only 3 days of running per week.

Event comments:

Needed many more porta-potties in first half or race. Long wait before start is tough to take. The post race treatment in Central Park is severely lacking. Need water, food and medical attention first - not the post race photo. The walk to baggage pickup is absolutely brutal.
