Run
Comments: I was able to get fairly close to the front of my Bib colors starting group and got off to a fairly good start with only a fair amount of weaving through people. By mile 2 I felt like I had settled into a pretty good groove. My Achilles reminded me the whole race that it was not feeling great but never had "pain" in it per say. I wish it would have felt better and then I wouldn't have been afraid of pushing myself harder. What would you do differently?: Come in uninjured and do a better warm up and stretching. Post race
Warm down: Walked around then did a little bit of strething. Had to drive the 6 hours back to Portland about an hour after the race. What limited your ability to perform faster: My left Achilles and the congestion in the beginning. I am also only down to 210 pounds and think once I can lose another 25lbs or so my times will improve drastically. Event comments: Bloomsday is a fun event as long as you are able to get seeded up into a front group so that you dont have to deal with the thousand and thousands of walkers. Had drove in the day before from Portland, OR Spent the night at my parents house. Iced my Achilles before bed since it had been bothering me. Woke up and ate a little Oatmeal but had a nervous upset stomach.
Walked about 3/4 of a mile to the start line and then stretched while trying to stay warm.
