Swim
Comments: With the altitude and cold water, I was finding it very hard to maintain 3 stroke breathing. I started alternating 2-2-3-2-2-3 to give both sides equal time What would you do differently?: This was a good swim for me. I am going to work on a higher SR without loosing form. Transition 1
Comments: I did well. I was not rushing, methodical. Timing mat was right at water, so T1 includes wetsuit strip and a jog up boat ramp. What would you do differently?: Run a bit more. Bike
Comments: The tailwind going out did not make up for the headwind and hills coming back. I am weak on the bike and the wind was not a help What would you do differently?: Need more bike training. Transition 2
Comments: Time included in Run, but I guess about 2-3 minutes here. I reapplied sunscreen, that took a minute or so. My legs felt ok. What would you do differently?: Get some spray sunscreen Run
Comments: Hot, altitude, and hills. I did ok, was not mentally strong enough to keep running. I wanted to finish, but HR was very hard to control, so I walk-ran most of the miles. What would you do differently?: I need more bricks with longer runs Post race
Warm down: I walked around transition and went back down to lake to soak legs/hips. What limited your ability to perform faster: Altitude and wind beat me up. Event comments: This course schooled me along with the wind and altitude. I finished, goal #1 and I finished sub-7 hours, goal #2, and I almost finished sub-6:30, goal #3. I live to race another day.
