  • Comments: Not a well organized race! Several aid stations had no water. Only had stations every 2 miles on the run. Most volunteers seemed confused or lacked info.

  • Comments: Even though lots of things went wrong, I'm really glad to have experienced it and not in a detrimental way (I hope the guy is alright!). I really feel like had I done more to prepare and things rolled my way, I could have had a much better time than what I exhibited here. Those are all my fault though, and it will all be for the better in the future. As for the race itself, quite challenging and well put together. The volunteers were great and informative, the crowds were welcoming, and it was nice to see familiar faces. Helping out the youth race right afterwards was painful, but rewarding as well. See you next year Show Low!

  • Comments: This really is a great event in a beautiful location. The only criticism I would have is they moved the awards cermony and thier famour raffle to 5:30pm at a local middle school. It was the first time they had done this and it wasn't well organized. I understand why they did this. The students at the school volunteer at the race and use the pre-race and post race dinner as a fund rasier. When they had the awards and raffle in the afternoon at the race site, no one went to the dinner, so this way they capture their audience better. They just need to get the better organized. What also makes this weekend special is that on Sunday, i got to go watch Jamie get her revenge on the XTERRA course. She had an aweosme race, finishing 5th her in AG. Something tells me she is now hooked on XTERRA. :) As for me, lot's to consider, lot's to work on, and a build up for Vineman where I plan on not only qualifying for the World Champs but be at the top of the AG podium.

  • Comments: This course schooled me along with the wind and altitude. I finished, goal #1 and I finished sub-7 hours, goal #2, and I almost finished sub-6:30, goal #3. I live to race another day.

  • Comments: This is a great weekend of racing which features a Half, and Olympic, and Aqua Bike, XTERRA, and even a kids race. Jamie woke up Sunday morning with a stomach flu but despite that and her concerns witht he bike course, she started the race and had a great swim. She went on to complete 95% of the bike course before having to stop. She rode all of it except one section and was so happy. For me, it was a great race, especially since I was very unhappy with my perfromance last year. I wanted revenge and I got it. :)

  • Comments: Dueces Wild Triathlon Festival is a full weekend of racing sponsored by TriSports. They have the Half, Oly, and AquaBike on Saturday and an XTERRA on Sunday. They have two athlete dinners and a huge rafal on Saturday. We ddin't go but I hear they give away a ton of great stuff. The volunteer issue was the result of a massive case of food poisoning on Friday night! They lost a bunch of folks, including the one who would have been directing people on the run course at a certain point... :)

  • Comments: All the guys at TriSports dealt very well with my bad day, and made sure I didn't die on the course. It was close, as there were a few lightning strikes within a half mile or so at the end. I forgot that salt tablets made such a difference in my hydration.

  • Comments: A few things: 1) Every bike aid station (there are only four) needs port-a-potties 2) Need sunscreen available at transition

  • Comments: I'm not going to dispariage this race because it is run very well, the RD is a jem and TriSport is an excellent organization. I would reccomend this race to anyone but this is a very tough race and that is not conveyed on the race website. The climbing at the end of the bike is substantial and the traffic is very heavy on much of the bike and good chunks early in the run. The run has almost no flat whatsoever. This is a tough race but if you come ready for a tough race you won't be disapointed.

  • Comments: The post-race lunch had run out of chips by the time I got done. I think that was one of the worst problems, so I would rate this a pretty good event. Definitely on my "try again" list.

  • Comments: This triathlon is by far the best in the state of Arizona. The water was perfect, the course was in great condition. The volunteers were great and the raffle at the end of the race was the largest I've ever seen (even thought I didn't win anything!). Can't wait for next year.
