Pre-race routine:

Event warmup:

did a 50 meter swim 10 minutes before race
Swim
  • 41m 3s
  • 1750 yards
  • 02m 21s / 100 yards
Comments:

I had the worse swim if you can call it that...about 100 meters in I couldnt really get in a rythem or really breath....teh panic started to settle in and the energy began to expend....i couldnt get my breathing together so had to side strke the whole way.....was super tired getting out the water....was not a gret way to start off
What would you do differently?:

practice more in choppy water, I practiced in a lake but it was calm and no chop so really didnt help me out....warm up longer, I would also focus on exhaling and try and relax
Transition 1
  • 02m 42s
Comments:

transition was good i could have gone faster but with that horrific swim I was so tired I need some time to compose myself....I actually ran to transition after swim....ha
What would you do differently?:

have a better swim so I am not so tired in transition
Bike
  • 1h 33m 40s
  • 26.9 miles
  • 17.23 mile/hr
Comments:

I thought I did a solid job...the inclines were tough and didnt really get in a groove until midway through the first lap..so lost some time...could of pushed harder but wanted to save a little for run. Overall I had a good ride , averaging 17.2 miles an hour has been my best thus far..So can really complain except I need to improve my climbing skills
What would you do differently?:

again have a better swim so I can get a good start at the beginnig of the course. Also push harder on the up hills and incline, i didnt push s hard to save my legs on the flats but there were more inclines than flats
Transition 2
  • 02m 9s
Comments:

transition went well
What would you do differently?:

I would spend less time putting on my shoes and get more fluids in, but overll it went well
Run
  • 51m 42s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

Run went well, I should of pushed harder on the first 5k...I waited to long to start to push the pace...I should of work harder on the up hill. I took it easy on the hills so I wouldnt waste energy but I had some left a end..
What would you do differently?:

Run faster on hills
Push the first 5k pace

Post race
Warm down:

stretch and used the cold water showers

What limited your ability to perform faster:

THE SWIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Event comments:

Race was great...and im def going back to redeem my horrific swim....
