Overall Rank = 123/720
Age Group = 20-24
Age Group Rank = 4/22
Event warmup:

Light streching and changing my frieds tire 30mins before the race. What made it worse was he didn't have a extra tube so we had to get one of those and transition area was closed so he put his tire along the fence and picked it up after he left the swim.
Swim
  • 10m 34s
  • 550 yards
  • 01m 55s / 100 yards
Comments:

They said they shortened the swim to around 550yds. The water temp was 59degrees and I didn't have a wetsuit, so for the first 1/3 of the swim I thought I was going to drown because I could not breathe, and I had to swim like I was sighting because I couldn't put my head in the water. After that I warmed up and could swim fine for the rest of the race. Except my goggles fogged up and I took a wrong turn and had to backtrack a little. And apparently I was ranked 459 in the swim, which means almost everyone beat me.
What would you do differently?:

I would definetely wear a wetsuit next time. Or atleast get in the water before the race starts to get used to it.
Transition 1
  • 02m 13s
Comments:

The transistion was long for everyone because it was such a long run from the water. I was pretty fast imo.
What would you do differently?:

Bring something to sit on. Maybe some water to wash my feet on, and try to start with my shoes already on the bike
Bike
  • 57m 33s
  • 16.8 miles
  • 17.52 mile/hr
Comments:

My plan for the bike was too go all out, which you had to do because the course was so hilly there was literally no way to take it easy. Overall I did well and even broke my speed record and hit 40miles/hr twice.
What would you do differently?:

Not forget my water bottles in my car. When I hit the first aid station at mile 11 it was hard to actually drink water.
Transition 2
  • 01m 17s
Comments:

Was pretty fast in changing.
Run
  • 31m 7s
  • 4.3 miles
  • 07m 14s  min/mile
Comments:

I'm surprised I did so well on the run. I thought I was going pretty slow for the first 2 miles.
What would you do differently?:

Run faster
Post race
Warm down:

stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not ready for the cold water. Needed to do more bricks and more hill workouts on my bike.

Event comments:

This race was awesome. The course was beautiful and the volunteers were extremely helpful. Everything went smoothly. FIRST TRIATHLON COMPLETE!!!
