Pre-race routine:

Cup of coffee when I woke up. I ate a banana and a granola bar about an hour before I started the swim. I jogged a little to warm up and then stretched.

I started out too fast and got so tired that I had to back stroke.

Pace myself, start slow and speed up near the end

I put on two shirts as well because it was so cold. I had to do a lot of things differently this transition because I have never had a wetsuit before or put on extra clothes for the bike or put on bike gloves. I knew that it would take longer but it was worth it.

Very organized and lots of volunteers. This was the best, most fun race I have ever done.
