  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race! Lots of volunteers, lots of different races going on (a 5K, the olympic, the half). This is a big fundraising race for cancer. Very good vibe. Great food afterwards, Flying Dog beer, sunny day, lots of tents, very colorful. Will do this one again.

  • Comments: This race was an atrocity. The timing chips that my club got didn't work (one guy had an hour added to his time). I was DQed for no reason that i am aware of (I am not exactly new to triathlon either) race officials gave me no warning and i was not on the penalty list on the race time website. On the bike course one of the younger volunteers decided to jump in front of me and caused me to flip. This was easily the worst race i have ever been in, and i do not plan on recommending or returning. I sincerely hope that the MACTC championships are moved to another race (like giant acorn) because this race was awful. Oh they also decided not to post my times, (which means i will not be able to race in collegiate nationals, so thank you race directors)

  • Comments: Again, I can't say enough how impressed I was by both Rev3 (who I loved since Quassy last year and knew were a top-notch organization) but also by The Ulman Cancer Fund. Both organizations worked together so well to put on a well run, organized, excellent event. Team Fight members were so supportive and welcoming. As trying as it was at different points during the race, I have already decided I want to do this race again next year because the UCF is such a worthy cause. And I love Rev3. And it is such a great course in a lovely area. And because I want redemption. Redemption for a race that wasn't quite what it should have been (again, absolutely no regrets about helping the girl) because I know I could have performed better. Video featuring the reasons some people race, Team Fight finishers, and Lance, totally worth watching: http://vimeo.com/50963563?action=share

  • Comments: Not a great performance for me, but no terrible, and probably about what I deserved given my recent training. I have done this event each year since it's inception, and this year was interesting. Obviously Rev3 and Lance's involvement raised the profile of the race by about a million percent. This in turn made for a much stronger field - I finished in the top 20 overall last year but was around #45 this year. And it was an extremely organized, well-run, and well-supported event. But it definitely had a different feel to it: in past year's it had been a pretty low-key, cancer fundraiser event with a very cool charity vibe to it. This year's event was much more professional and had the added hype of Lance racing. Not saying this was good or bad, but it was... different. I will likely do it again next year, but only if they avoid the same weekend as Seagull Century (a favorite event I was sad to miss this year because I signed up for Half Full before knowing the date of Seag

  • Comments: very, very good race. Incredible swag. Great volunteers who were cheerful even in the rain and cold. I only wish it were in July! October is just way too late for this race, its the third year of cold/rainy weather. However, in a way, it seems appropriate. We were suffering, and it pushed us to our limits, just like cancer does. It was a day when all had to dig deep and that I love.

  • Comments: Yet another frustrating miss at a podium finish. Despite 18th overall I wound up 5th in my age group. In any other age group (older or younger) I would have been top-3. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't worry about things I can't control. This is fast becoming one of my favorite events: time trial start, nice course, well organized, not obscenely expensive, for a good cause, plus it has that cool cancer-survivor vibe going on. I'll be back even though it is not a local race for me any more.

  • Comments: What's not to love? Incredible organization and cause - the schmaltz and warm fuzzies were blanketing the event, and our neon yellow Team Fight/UCF colors were everywhere. I'm clearly biased, because I love this group. Very emotional day, but not as many tears as I'd expected. Survivors, in yellow caps and race bibs lead the way, as it should be. LOVED the inspirational mile with all the signs about why we fight, what "half full" means. Great reality check and inspiration early in the run to help us all remember why we're there. Post-race walked back about a mile or 2 looking for a teammate who was doing the HIM and cramped up on the run from the beginning. So nice to see I wasn't the only one as we picked up a few others on the way, to get him to his little girl who'd been patiently waiting in the drizzle to run through the finish chute with him. Perfect ending to the day. Hurt all over within a few hours - even my chest was hurting from breathing all the cold air - but have absolutely

  • Comments: Great support and plenty of volunteers for this race. Lots of police help too. Very hilly and windy at times. Day was wet and cold. Enjoyed it very much. Great cause!
