Pre-race routine:

This race started in the afternoon. So I was ready to go by race time. I took a swim in Turkey Creek Lake early in the day to get used to the cold water. Glad I did.

First time really trying to jump on bike with shoes already clipped in during a race. I accidentally pulled my velcro strap too far out of my left shoe. So I wasn't strapped in to my left shoe for this race. But it was only a few miles and really didn't matter. So I just left it as is. But my transition time was really good.

Took too long to get strapped in to my left shoe. I actually never got strapped in, and I was getting passed a lot. So I went at a comfortably hard pace up the hill. Lisa caught me. I pretty much let up once I got to the top of the hill.

Practice getting my shoes strapped in faster.

First time in a race I did a flying dismount with my feet on top of my shoes. The pavement was nice. Wow, what a difference in time saved by doing this.
