Swim
Comments: Almost the entire swim was super crowded. RD combined m30-34 and m35-39 in same wave, so About 80 guys started at the same time. Got in traffic early and was really congested until about 75m left. Still managed a decent swim. 8th in AG and probably 14th in heat of 80. There was some confusion with a turn buoy, 2 lifeguards directing people different ways. Some guys got a bout a 80yd shortcut close to the shore, some had to go around a bouy before turning. What would you do differently?: Try to start closer to front. Transition 1
Comments: dropped my swim cap coming into T1 hesitated, then left it. A volunteer brought it over to me while I was putting helmet on. It was nice of him, but whole thing prob cost 10 sec. My area was a long way away from bike in/out, but they were assigned. Bike
Comments: Pretty fast ride/course. What would you do differently?: Probably couldve pushed a little harder. I definitely need to work on cornering. This was my fastest Avg MPH yet though. Transition 2
Comments: Fast T2. Think I passed 3 guys here. Run
Comments: Calf started to cramp right from the start but went away after about a mile. Only got passed by one guy, a 17 year old who ended up averaging 5:40 a mile. Crazy. Post race
Event comments: Very well organized, staffed. There was the little misdirection on the swim and I did hear a few people say the volunteers on the bike route at the start of lap 2 were confused on which way to send bikers. Last updated: 2011-06-01 12:00 AM
