Run
Comments: Was VERY happy. My goal was to be 1:20 and I beat it. I got a yellow bib this year so I was excited not to have to be around the walkers and REALLY slow runners...but that didn't matter. There were still walkers in our group and in the green bib section (1 in front). Was furious with this as people like that should be in the back. Found out after the race that people will put down whatever time so they can get different color bibs. I was feeling pretty good during the race, could start feeling it around mile 6 but it wasn't bad. Sucked down a gu at the 45 minute mark. I was at 8.3 with 1:10 on my watch but I really started to fall apart. My legs just didn't want to move anymore...they were done. I just kept pushing and kept pushing. Came across a guy that was REALLY struggling and I gave him some words of encouragement to keep going...which only fueled me to keep pushing. About 10 yards from the finish line a girl next to me started sprinting so I decided to join her and sprint as well. After we finished we gave each other a high five. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Lots of walking around and lots of water...my shorts were dripping with sweat for an hour after the race. Event comments: This is well run every year. I'd like to see more tents at the end of the race for massages and stuff. With 13k runners there should be a bit more... Last updated: 2011-06-02 12:00 AM

My usual little bit of stretching, had a banana about an hour before, water and a gu 15 minutes before.
