Swim
Comments: Seriously why make use swim into the current? What would you do differently?: SWIM WITH THE CURRENT Transition 1
Comments: Took my time while talking to the wife. Explained to her why I was DQed and I was still going to have a go at the bike and run. What would you do differently?: Actually try at T1 Bike
Comments: Got a flat at mile 15. Hit a piece of metal that was on the course. Was going to give up but a moped came along and changed the tube. Volunteer freaked me out at the dismount line causing me to flip. Then she called me fat. Then I had enough and quit. What would you do differently?: Punch the volunteer and do the run. Transition 2
Comments: DNF What would you do differently?: Punch the volunteer and do the run. Run
What would you do differently?: Punch the volunteer and do the run. Post race
Warm down: 12 mile bike ride when I got home. Wanted to make sure the bike was ok and so were my cut and bruised legs. Other than paint and a grip being damaged the NEW bike worked fine. Oh yeah so did the legs. What limited your ability to perform faster: Current, flat tire, volunteer who thought they were funny. Event comments: The bike was as advertised fast and flat. I'm sure the run was as well. The swim was suppose to be an EASY swim. The boats picked up over 40 people. The faster time for a 1000 yard was over 20 minutes. This was not an easy swim. I saw a girl crying because of the swim. She was pushed off course by at least 1000 yards. Yeah that's how strong the current was. Through it all I kept a positive attitude and even laughed when I flipped. But to have a volunteer call me fat, that ended my day. 166 at 5'10", I have a gut but by no means would anyone call me fat.
