Went ok. Still not in great shape. It's hard to swim through everyone as it is a staggered start with 200+ people ahead of me. There were a few moments of breast stroking and stalling as I weaved through (and caught my breath!).

Was lightning fast through transition and hopping onto the bike. Strap on cycling shoes pulled through when I put my feet in. Had to pull over and re-string through. Didn't take too much time, but it did force me to stop, lose my momentum, and restart. May have spent 10-20 stopped, but cost more time with the stopping and restarting.
What would you do differently?:

Figure out a solution to the straps.

Went very well. In hindsight, it was probably exactly the pace I needed to do. Everyone seemed to be a bit slower this year due to a light headwind; I was the same speed as last year which is encouraging.

Probably my best triathlon performance to date. A week early I thought if everything went perfectly I could go under 2:20. I was quite happy.
