  • Comments: Probably my best triathlon performance to date. A week early I thought if everything went perfectly I could go under 2:20. I was quite happy.

  • Comments: Loved the race. Very well organized. They've been doing it for a long time and it shows. Transition areas couldn't have been smoother. Great swim, smooth and comfortable and very fast. Faster than average bike course but has enough hills to hurt you on the run if you're not careful; and yes you need to save something for the run because it is brutal. Big hills and thick, humid air. We got lucky with the weather this year but typically it will be well into the 90s with a blazing sun riding on your back. If you overdo it on the bike you will suffer here. Awesome finish on the track. Volunteers were great, fan support was great. Loved every minute of it and can't wait to do it again. Three tips: 1) register early because the race starts according to registration, first come first serve. And in the Mississippi heat you want to start as early as possible; 2) bring a swim cap if you need one b/c they don't provide them with your packet; 3) have someone go to the start with

  • Comments: This is a great race! The logistics are kind of crazy being point to point, but if you can get support for it, it is definitely worth a look!

  • Comments: The race is really cool, but coming into town and not having the light patrolled was really dangerous. Traffic is really heavy on the run too. I did place 3rd in my AG with no duplication and the top two receiving top 10 awards, so that was pretty cool (and unexpected).

  • Comments: I give it a four and not a 5 star basically b/c of the transition areas being out of control small, the traffic, and the post race security of your items. Being a point to point you should have great security and it was lacking. But it was the RD's first and I'm sure he will fix the problems.

  • Comments: My husband and I though prerace instruction was lacking. 1) there was no instruction on how we were to gather our bikes from the T2 - 27.5 miles from the start, 7 miles from the finish (we had to rely on other racers who guessed how this was supposed to be done), 2) no official instruction on basic race procedures of any kind. We waited until after the awards ceremony to be bused back to the start where our T1 things were thrown into boxes and pushed aside (image 400 pairs of goggles in a pile!) Then, we had to get back in the car, drive 27.5 miles back to T2 and get our bikes. All in all, the race was fun. A neat experience. The volunteers were great. I wasn't trained for a race like this and my times reflected it. My husband and I decided to race HOD the week before. I guess we couldn't have expected anything different.

  • Comments: Despite the abysmal performance...I got 3rd in my AG (actually 4th, but 1st moved up to Masters, so everyone moved up). I was 16 minutes slower than last year, but I guess the weather took its toll on everyone. We left before the awards, so a friend got mine. I can't wait to see it.

  • Comments: This is a point to point race which I've never done. I would recommend leaving a car at the finish line because if you don't have transportation back to the starting line then you have to wait forever until the awards ceremony is over. However, I truly enjoyed this event and would definitely recommend it to everyone.

  • Comments: This was the 28th annual Heart O' Dixie triathlon and it may be one of the oldest non iron distance races in the country. Apparently, it's been run on the same course since the beginning. Very fun event. The only drawback to this race is the traffic, both on the bike and the run. There is not a lot of room on the side of the roads and a lot of people heading the same direction to the Neshoba County Fair. Also, a couple of turns (bike and run) could've used a volunteer to shepherd the first timers in the right direction. The race is limited to 300, so spreads out and sometimes not a lot of other people are in front to follow.
