Event comments:

Due a late storm that came through the area the night before, trees and debris were all over the bike course, so the race director had to take out the bike and we did a 3.1 mile run - 1/2 mile swim - 3.1 mile run. With my heel spur, I wasn't sure I'd be able to do a 10K, but I made it. Did the first run with my friend, Duane. He wasn't going to do the race at all once they nixed the bike leg, but he had never done an open water swim and wanted to mentally get over that hurdle, so I talked him into it.
