Up at 4:15 am, drove to Animal Kingdom. Drank 2 amino vitals and ate a powerbar. Tried to drink a diet coke, but couldn't tolerate it. Stood in line FOREVER at the potties.

Comments:

I felt ok the first mile, then by mile 2 I felt TERRIBLE. I had a side stitch which I guess was overhydration from pre-race. After I puked, I felt much better!! Took mile 3 to get the stitch out, then I felt great! Cranked up my nano and started picking out women to pass.

Mile 5 I had to really pee, so I decided I wasn't gonna take the time to stop at a porta potty. There was 1 potty along the road about every mile, but each one had about 10 women waiting for it. No thanks! I just went as I ran. The next water stop I poured water down my britches to clean up, and I was good to go!! Actually kinda liberating! More lady like than squatting in the road in front of everybody like Gasparilla??!! :)

I started feeling the blisters on my left foot around mile 5, and realized I had forgotten to tape my foot. I'm such a dork! My left leg hurt pretty much from the beginning. I stopped at the medical stop and grabbed some biofreeze and slathered my left ITB, which helped considerably!!

Got into Epcot and ran around the countries, and back out into the parking lot. The volunteers said the finish line was right outside the gate, but it was about another .50 mile out. I backed my ipod up to my Cascada song and kicked my tempo up a bit too early and just about didn't have anything left to finish. I was trying not to repeat last week and puke on the photographer at the end or Mickey Mouse!! I got my medal, went to medical and got two ice bags for both knees, got some food, then hung out a bit.

What would you do differently?:

Push harder during the "feel good times".

Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and got my daughter registered to run the kids' race. She started with about 30 5-6 year olds in the back, and next thing I knew she was leading!! She kicked some serious ass!! She is a fast lil noodle!! I was SO freaking proud of her! I had gotten her new Nike shoes and running clothes this weekend, and that's what she wore. She was convinced that those were her "fast" clothes. My son, so sweetly told her that maybe I should borrow them for MY next race!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My fat ass!

Event comments:

First time for this race. Only 5 water stops, coulda used a few more. Woulda been nice to have some COLD drinks at the end of the race too. It was hot to me, and I love the heat!

Awesome medals!!
