Pre-race routine:

Left work at 2pm, drank some sports drink, water, and had a small snack. Actually took a little nap.
Event warmup:

Did a little jog to the bathroom about 30 minutes before the start.

Comments:

First Mile was a tad slower as there was a huge crowd. Started out running with Marmadaddy but he was much better at weaving through the masse than I was. After the first mile things opened up a bit and I got into a decent stride. Not really sure what happened during mile 3, didn't think I had slowed down that much. It was cooler than last year but much more humid.
What would you do differently?:

Not much I could do differently. I started much closer to the front and that helped over last year.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around a bit, drank some water. Caught up with Marmadaddy and said good-bye. Ran and turned in my time to our team captain and then headed off to a Boy Scout Meeting.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Still working on my run fitness. This is a much improved time over last year, nearly 10 minutes, though I had wanted to be under 25:00. Still about 15 pounds heavier than I'd like to be, that's slowly being reduced.

Event comments:

This is a very large race, about 9400 runners and walkers. It brings out everyone and many folks that think they are much faster than they really are. It's a fun race to do with all the coworkers though.
