Run
Comments: Started too far back int the A corral first two splits were over 8:00 because of the crowd. Legs! left ITB started bugging me at 15, stopped to stretch it, then arches and ankles began to hurt more, then inner thighs were the mose pronounced pain for the last 6 miles. I almost wish I had pushed my HR higher in the beginning until the body started breaking down. HR and energy were not my limiters, pain was. What would you do differently?: I'm going to try the Galloway program on the next long distance event to see if it really does reduce fatigue. nutrition and fitness are fine, the old legs just can't take the distance. Post race
Warm down: eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy. What could be better? Guys I was with needed to get back to DFW so did not have time to hunt down the beer tent. What limited your ability to perform faster: ITB, PF, etc. Event comments: would give a 5 rating if they had more then 2 stinking corrals. There were too many 8:00+ pacers in the A corral that should have been back in the open corral. Stretch goal was to break 3:20, acceptable goal was to beat 3:25 so I'm pretty happy.
