Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4 am and took a shower then had a boiled egg and toast loaded bike and went to firestation to get my wetsuit. Got a coke there for the race and had a peice of left over french bread and 1/2 cup old coffee.
Event warmup:

Biked with Dave out to all but 3 miles of the route. Then got in the water about 20 minutes early and swam and stayed in until my wave moved up and then swam to the start point.
Swim
  • 14m 31s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 39s / 100 yards
Comments:

Got beat up very bad and even swam against a guy who was wearing paddles on his hands what a jerk, I was all over this guy once I noticed what he was doing.
What would you do differently?:

Try not to start with wave that has relays also.
Transition 1
  • 01m 37s
Comments:

Slow transition wetsuit at heals to shoes not going on easy then it took atleast 3 minutes to get hooked in
What would you do differently?:

more practice and baby powder shoes
Bike
  • 32m 18s
  • 12 miles
  • 22.29 mile/hr
Comments:

passed all but one that I stayed with challenging eachother the whole way.
What would you do differently?:

more practice clipping in and adjust tightness of clips as I came out on the way out chasing my challenger. Also pass as Dave said get up on someone before going around this way getting a little advantage drafting for a while. In other words don't ride way left to pass everyone.
Transition 2
  • 01m 11s
Comments:

Still ahve not master pedaling on top of shoes and so when I popped out of clips I was moving right along and when I cowboyed off I slipped as I was hitting the brakes for the bike it came up and I slipped hard onto my left buttocks.
What would you do differently?:

Must learn to pedal on top of pedals.
Run
  • 21m 3s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 46s  min/mile
Comments:

Stayed motivated and talked to alot of people and kept the pace.

Ran good never got passed until coming down the hill by 868 a 42 year old tall blonde arian nation dude...and then about 1/2 mile out a hot chick about 34 or so passed me.
What would you do differently?:

run more hills.
Post race
Warm down:

not much

What limited your ability to perform faster:

swim I got beat up, clipping on bike, transitons were slow.

Event comments:

Well organized considering how many were there, fun especially the run.
