  • Comments: This is not a well-organised race. 1. They did not have swim caps for everyone 2. Racing started about an hour late 3. The swim finish chute was black (or blue, I will never know) All round, a ton of disorganisation

  • Comments: I really liked this race, it was such a good one to have as my first triathlon because there were people of all abilities there which comforted me through the whole process. Additionally, it was easy for mom and ethan to watch because the area around the transition area was very accessible to spectators. It helped a great amount knowing I had a small (yet very important) fan base. Also, it helped a TON to let everyone I knew know about my race because it encouraged me to keep working towards it.

  • Comments: Great race! I would do this again. It's a great short course with lots of people and activities. I will hope to do this next year to see how I do against this year time.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: Well - I did it! This was the toughest race of my season and I completed it! Was it a good race for me? Yes and no. I met my big three goals, in that I survived the swim, I finished, and I had fun (on the bike portion, that is). And I didn't commit any of the tri fouls that I'd done at Cottage Lake. But I complained the whole way, and knew that my swim could have gone much better. Because of this race, I know that I need to do more open-water swims and figure out how to turn my attitude around when things don't go well. I definitely plan on doing this course next year to redeem myself!

  • Comments: Other than waiting around 45min for my wave, I thought it was pretty good. I'm tempted to sign up as 'elite' next year so I can go in the first wave - I'd finish middle of the pack from the swim wave & no one would know I wasn't elite until they saw my bike splits...

  • Comments: I like the big races. Riding on the bridge was great. Riding in the tunnel was a riot (never done that before). The little hill on run was hard on me but was fun. Noticed it was also hard on other runners. Loaded up on free stuff after the race and then re give most of it. Overall super fun!

  • Comments: I used to really like this race, but in recent years I have been disappointed with the organization. Here are the reasons it gets 3 stars: 1) The packet pickup the day before is too short, and if you show up after noon you might not get a T-shirt, even if you preregistered. If they don't at least set your shirt aside I don't see any incentive for someone to preregister. 2) The order of the waves makes no sense. Some slower waves go early, so my wave always has to do a lot of passing on a crowded course. Seafair attracts a lot of first-timers who don't know that they should ride on the right, so there are always close calls when trying to pass them at a high relative speed. 3) The size of some waves makes no sense. Many waves are 5-year age groups (e.g., men 30-34, women 25-29), but my wave is the gigantic and testosterone infused men 29-and-under wave. There are just too many people starting the swim in this wave, and I'm sure that's part of the reason the swim is always

  • Comments: I had a GREAT time! What a neat thing to do together. Roy has always been my BIGGEST supporter and I've really hoped he'd consider doing a triathlon some day. He has always resisted, but not today! Today he stepped up to the plate and he made me proud. More importantly, we made a wonderful memory together. We could dress up and go out to a fancy dinner and drop a lot of $$ on a load of calories but you know what? I'd rather don a wetsuit and running shoes and run across a finish line with my honey ANY day! Love isn't jewelry and 6 course dinners. Love is stepping outside of your comfort zone to do something that you're a little afraid of because you know it will make your wife happy. Roy showed me a LOT of love that day, as he does every day. I am so blessed.

  • Comments: This is not one of my favorite races but the course is great. I don't like really big races and it is not very well marshaled. The food was pretty good this year with PCC being a sponsor. I am very happy that I dropped around 13 minutes off last years time overall.

  • Comments: Fun race, well organized... started right on time, which waas nice. Biggest race I've done with # of participants. Post race grub was bananas & oranges - blah, but Jamba Juice saved the day.

  • Comments: I'm impressed that they put on a race this big in such a small venue, but I don't think they should start the race at 7:00 am. They only needed to close 6 miles of (lightly traveled) road, and even the slowest people were done with the bike before 9:00. Why such a rush?

  • Comments: This is a beautiful race course and seemed very well-organized. I did, however, see some illegal drafting on the I-90 bridge. I am looking forward to doing it next year.

  • Comments: The swim course at this race is not good. They really need to do something about the milfoil. Otherwise it is a good race and the bike and run courses have beautiful views of Mt. Rainier. The goody bag was decent and the t-shirt was good. The post race food was not that great but it was pretty standard for races of this size. Overall I think I will do this race again next year if only to prove to myself that I do not suck as much as I think I do on the bike and run. I was about 3 min faster overall than last year.
