Comments:

Swim was done in waves starting every 5 minutes, and people seemed to spread out pretty well after about 50m so there was space to swim.
What would you do differently?:

Work on breath control, do more freestyle & less backstroke.

Narrow path for the beginning of the ride, so could be hectic if in a big group, fortunately I was not so it worked out just fine. The first bit was also a little rough of a road, but after that it was flat and fast!!!
What would you do differently?:

Shake out my legs and move a little faster at the beginning of the ride.

Fast and easy transition, only thing slowing me down was getting around other people also going into transition area.

Drink a swig of water before heading out for the run.

First part of the run felt like I was just shuffling! But felt good once I got going. The road felt pretty hard so that seemed to take a toll after a while.
What would you do differently?:

Push through the fatigue and run faster!

Just plain and simple fatigue!

Event comments:

This was my first race and it was incredible. Great race for beginner's to get their feet wet or experienced racers to inprove their times. I would recommend this race to anyone, it was so much fun!

Course: Fast & flat. 3 loops around a neighborhood area and county road. Easy to pick up some good speed and pace. Fun! Road conditions were rough out of the transition area on the county road, but very smooth the rest of the way. There were a couple bottle neck points, but it did not seem to hinder anyone.

Course: Out and back course. Hardpacked dirt path, felt like running on cement (not a lot of give). Nice views around Union Reservoir, small hill right before turning point with water station at top of hill.
