Pre-race routine:

powerbar and part of a Pb sandwich... couldn't get much of it down.
Event warmup:

Waiting in line for the bathroom.. amazed at how many portable units they had but still long lines. Haven't done many big road races like this.

Comments:

Signed up at the last minute for the race. In the middle of mary plan so I didn't taper just made the race my long run for the week. I also wanted to see what it was like to run with a pace group. My pr hm is 1:56 so I figured I could stay with the 2 hr group. Stayed about 2 first downs behind the group and just tried to stay consistent. Worked pretty well until about mile 8 or 9 and I started to slow.. fell back taking on fluids and couldn't seem to catch up. Heat got me some too but it was a good test on running with a pace group. Powergels worked well... had some left at the end from the package. Also was neat to see Ryan Hall come by on his way back.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing... it was good to experiment and learn.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked down the shoot and got some drinks. Skipped the party to go back home to the family.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training run so a taper might have helped. Heat zaps me too.
