  • Comments: great event... the EMS did an awesome job.... people were dropping like flies because of the heat. It was also good to see the community involved with the event.. great experience.. I will for sure run this again.. trained up of course. :)

  • Comments: Well supported, lots of fun, and easy course. I will probably do it again in the future, but since it's right in the middle of a fun summer weekend, maybe not regularly, cause I would prefer drinking and tanning to sleeping off a half mary hangover.

  • Comments: It's probably unfair for me to rate post-race activities as average. There are several events that go on throughout the weekend, but, I've never participated in them. 3 times I've registered for this event. (paid, but didn't run inaugural event in 2001) and I've never gone to any of the main attraction concerts.

  • Comments: Overall the race is ok, but a little over rated seeing how there is almost no after party (only 1 beer and no food) you do get a free entry to a concert the night of the race, but I don't really like to wait around that long.

  • Comments: My first half marathon ever and my first competitive race in about 10 years. Verry happy overall and a good learning experience. I wasn't sure if I could make the race as my oldest son got the flu the week before. He was better and nobody else got sick but had to change a lot of plans and was a bit mentally off. I should I put myself at an estimated earlier corral- cause I started way back and so many racers...Also need a better breakfast next time.

  • Comments: This was my 4th year running in this race and I am already signed up to do it again next year. Although it's a fairly large race, it's nice to make a weekend trip out of it, especially since it's on the beach. The expo is huge, there is a lot of free stuff to pick up, and the race itself is very organized. There were tons of volunteers and the post race activities are fabulous!

  • Comments: This is a very well organized race. Lot's of local support at aid stations and the bands along the way are fun. This is a pancake flat course, but the large number of participants makes for an extremely crowded course. You can't complain about a race that ends on a beach with beer.

  • Comments: Tons of fun. Logistically, they couldn't have done a better job, except maybe having the bus drivers know where they're going?? Just a thought???? Lots of volunteers, cheerleaders, good bands, medical personnel, and ice towels at the end are MONEY.

  • Comments: There was one stop near the end when they were out of cups or something like that. I was fine, but considering I finished MOP, I hope that the BOPers were well supported. Tables on both sides at all stops might also help ease some of the congestion.

  • Comments: Virginia Beach is a great race, and recommended for people looking to run a half marathon. It's very newbie friendly. It can get hot, so you may not want to expect a PR, but it really has a great "party" atmosphere.

  • Comments: This is my third year running in this race and although I am not a fan of the new course, I love how everything is put together and it makes for a very fun weekend. My friends and I are already planning on coming back next year. :)

  • Comments: RnR is a high profile race and they always do things big. My perspective as someone running up front is likely different from someone back in the masses. Although I would have liked more aid stations along the course, there was always plenty available when I hit one as well as in the finishing area. I'd imagine that once 10,000 people have already gone through there might be a little less organization and I know they have run low of things in the past. Still though, I think they do a good job with a very big event.
