Awful, awful, awful. Did I say awful? Started in the worst position possible. Swam the whole way and somehow was this slow. Goggles filled up with water multiple times, something that didn't happen in my warm-up. Lost my time chip in the last 200m.. It fell off my ankle! I panicked and stupidly dove down to try to find it.. I don't know what I was thinking! I was just happy to be out of the water when it was done.
What would you do differently?:

I just need to practice swimming in ow more.. Maybe do some mock open water swims. I really am bad at this.

Great transition.. I sprinted the whole way haha. Had Velcro transition shoes this time and didn't wear socks.. That helped immensely!

Ahh I just hate this. I wish I could be faster on the bike.. I just don't know how.I feel like I pass so many people and I don't get passed.. But my time and speed is always subpar for my expectations. I had never practiced on these kind of huge hills before so this course was definitely a challenge. Also, the road was very rough so it was harder to pick up speed and maintain it. One guy that passed me on the bike told me that I was "working too hard" and needed to switch into a harder gear. He said I was pedaling too fast. I don't understand? I was going 90-100 cadence..
What would you do differently?:

Practice hills more. More time in the saddle

I was proud of my run! I felt like I did really well and held a constant pace. Especially for the difficulty of the bike portion. It was very hot and I was very thirsty though. I think this was to be expected.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I think/hope with more practice I can improve on my running

Course: One big, super hilly loop! Road was in terrible condition 90% of time bc of the lack of rain. It seemed like it was uphill 40%, flat 40%, and downhill 20%.. but this could have been my imagination.
