Comments:

Nearly quit 100m in because I couldn't get comfortable with my stroke (kept swallowing water). Called over a surfer to bring me to shore, but he talked me into finishing, so I finished via breast/backstroke. I kissed the sand when I arrived on shore.

Train in the ocean and open water.

Training. Lack of OWS practice. Mountain bike. Conditioning.

Event comments:

My first triathlon. Not sure why I did an ocean swim for my first race without any OWS experience or swimming experience in general except that my sister and I decided to do this on a whim. Unbelievable experience though. I've been hooked ever since.
