Swim
Comments: Overall a good swim for me. This was my 1st tri and I have done very little open water training (ok… no real open water training). The biggest issue I had been keeping on course; I was zigzagging all over the place and I am sure I wasted a lot of energy and time. What would you do differently?: More open water and endurance training. Transition 1
Comments: I didn't practice for the Transitions. I took way too long to get my socks and bike shoes on. What would you do differently?: Next time I am going to practice having my shoes clipped in and riding in bare feet. Bike
Comments: My legs cramped up as soon as I pulled out of the transition area and it took me a few minutes to work out the kinks. This really slowed me down for the 1st part of the bike course. What would you do differently?: I think that I need to add more training that focused on the swim to bike transition into my routine. Transition 2
Run
What would you do differently?: I think that I could have pushed harder on the run. Post race
Warm down: Did a few stretches; walked around the event venue to cool down. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of swim training and lack of practice on the transitions. Event comments: I really enjoyed Bracebridge and this race. People were really friendly and helpful to a 1st time racer. Last updated: 2011-08-09 12:00 AM

Got up around 6:45, had a coffee, some fruit, and a small bowl of cereal.
Arrived at the event around 7:15AM; registered and setup my transition area. Lots of nice people to chat with. Started warmup around 8:30.
Quick run to warm up and some stretching
