  • Comments: This AG is surprisingly fast. The first 3 people in my F50-54 beat the first place women in F45-49! And I thought I would rank higher when I moved up to another AG. Anyway, I'm ok with 4th AG, but I'm very happy with my swim, even though that's just 6th in my AG. I downloaded the results and sorted them myself. Turned out of 136 women in total, I'm overall #50 (37%)/ swim #73 (54%)/ bike #28 (20%)/ run #52 (38%). Excuse me for tooting my own horn here, but I'm really pleased that 2yrs after the accident at the Worlds and over a yr of frozen shoulder, and at age 50 this yr, I can still be top 40% of all women, MOP in the swim, my weakest leg (which I still need a LOT of work on), and top 20% of all women on the bike. I thought I was a better runner, though. But overall, I'm elated, perhaps I CAN age gracefully.

  • Comments: This race weighed heavily on me. There was a lot going on in my head and life, so it was a tough race for me, mentally. Overall, I am happy with my performance, but I think I could have done better. Also, I came in feeling underprepared, and no where near as on form as I was for my last race. I was happy with my results, all things considered. This race was a lot harder than my previous race, so to be within a minute of my last time (and a minute from podiuming), I can't really complain.
