Swim
Comments: Was supposed to be swim out round bouie swim down round bouie and swim back but seemed off and had to swim at an odd angle back to beach but was out of the water in under 30 min then long jog back to transition area. Felt good just need to get better at OWS sighting. My calf started to cramp on my way in to the beach as well but went away fairly quickly and helped to remind me to hydrate the rest of the day. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 1
Comments: Took the time to wash off the feet from the jog back, slammed a GU, Jersey on and then tried to get gloves on need to do that while riding not in TA. What would you do differently?: gloves on while riding Bike
Comments: Felt good on the ride, had 2nd GU about 40 min into the ride, played leapfrog with a couple of guys. Did more passing then got passed. After a turn my rear brake started rubbing my rear tire and definitely caused me some trouble but kept it going the entire race. What would you do differently?: Get the bike a full tune up... Besides that I am happy with my performance on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: Got in got the shoes changed out slammed some water, used some chamois butter on some chafing issues for my jersey and off I went and got some Gatorade on my way out... Oops forgot my race belt back into TA and grab and go again What would you do differently?: remember race belt 1st time Run
Comments: Running is my weakest leg I know this and am trying to get better at it. 1st mile was not too bad but was being passed like I was standing still. That's ok because I'm running my race not anyone else's. I had hit the start of the run right at the 2 hour mark or so and I thought I would still be able to get sub 3 hours like I was shooting for. 1st mile 12 min or so same with 2nd mile. Ok hit my final GU and keep it going as long as I'm running and only walking at aid stations I'll be ok. Between mile 3 and 4 had to walk a minute or so and again right around mile 5. No more signs after mile 5 and had me confused on how much farther might have held back more so than I wanted to that last mile but was able to finish strong if in pain. What would you do differently?: More running, mostly easy sometimes hard. Post race
Warm down: Catching my breath and walking around a bit, bananna, coke and pizza. What limited your ability to perform faster: Running endurance Event comments: I really wanted to like this race and make it a normal event for me and I proabably will. It was not very well organized though, vehicular traffic allowed, nobody really checking transition area to make sure only those in there were supposed to be, and just overall feeling of being thrown together vs my other races and events I have been to.
