Run
Comments: This was my second Celtic Solstice. Last year's goal was to come in under a 10 minute/mile pace and I finished with a 9:26 pace. This year's goal was to beat last year's time, and to finish uninjured, with the latter being more important to me than the former. My race plan was pretty conservative. Started out slower than planned, due to the crowds and the uphill start, but more than made up for it latter. Finished more than 2 minutes faster than last year, and feeling good (no problems from my hips). If I had been trying, I'm sure I could have come in under 45 minutes, my stretch goal. This is a fun way to close out the year. What would you do differently?: I ran smart, something I don't always do. If I wanted to be more reckless, I would have planned to go under 45:00 Post race
Warm down: walking, stretching, eating What limited your ability to perform faster: acting responsibly Event comments: only one drink station at 2.5 miles, but I carry my own Last updated: 2011-09-09 12:00 AM
