  • Comments: Fun race! Nice start to the holiday season. Always interesting to see how the weather will be. We were expecting snow, but it never showed.

  • Comments: Love all of the people dressed up. Great atmosphere, fun race. Soup is delicious after the race and the premiums are always top of the line.

  • Comments: Great course, lots of people can watch from various points and see all the runners. Nice big tent which keeps everyone warm as they crowd inside. Good food afterwards, everyone always very cheerful. Plan to do this again next year!

  • Comments: Really enjoyed this race. It was fun to see everyone dressed up - lot's of Santa's!! Even though it was cold - the sun was out and it was a gorgeous day! Not too happy about having placements determined by time "across the finish line" rather than actual race time per the chip. I intentionally started way in the back, so my across the finish line time was an additional 4 minutes which according to their results dropped me from 48/95 to 55/95. hmmm........

  • Comments: There is a good, fun, vibe to the race. Santa hats, people offering encouragement to friends. Lots and lots of runners from past years judging by the shirts. Nice sponsor tables/post race snacks etc. Good job with parking in a difficult situation.

  • Comments: I think only about 350 of the 2000 signed up completed the race, which was during a bad snowstorm. Got 20 inches or something ridiculous total, and the race was in the middle of it. I wasn't excited to drive in that or to run in it and ruin new shoes or get really wet cold feet, so I skipped it.

  • Comments: 4th year running this, but this was my 3rd best time of the 4. Ran it a minute faster last year and 20 seconds faster 2 years ago. Lack of any real mileage and speedwork showed. It continues to be a great race with the best prime for registering which is why so many sign up for it. Now ..... there were some issues with the timing chips. About 100 people did not have starting times even though they crossed. So there was a mess up in the standings. It actually has me as 3rd in my AG! But I know for sure that there were 2 fellow HC Striders that are in my AG that were ahead of me. When you look at their times, it only shows the actual time they crossed the finish line. When you compare that to mine, they were 3 - 4 minutes before me. That is why I placed myself in 5th in the AG and around 45th overall - even though preliminary results say 3rd in AG and 37th overall. We'll see how things pan out.   • Comments: Continues to grow and be one of the best and most affordable races on the calender. Plus the course is just right, brings out all the local fasties and you get a seriously killer prime for registering (this year was a Brooks jacket) with custom logo work designed by a local Celtic artist. That is why the event has doubled in size each year! Great year end closing race.

  • Comments: In my opinion, this is a great race. It's reasonably priced, and you can pay a dirt cheap price of only $10 if you don't want the premium. There's no packet, per se, so no plastic bag and lots of junk in it you don't need/won't read. I like that. I did this race mainly to get excited about racing again and get psyched for the 2008 race season, and I think I achieved that goal. I would recommend it.
