Swim
Comments: I have been having problems in the swims but I am progessively getting better and more comfortable. Started and ran into a bunch of people. I had problems controlling the breathing and getting into a rythymic swim. I didnt do so well until about 1/2 way thru the race. I was finally able to do a decent rythym swim the last 1/4 mile What would you do differently?: be calm and try to breath normally. Transition 1
Comments: Average transition...not the greatest transition area. Lots of dirt and gravel. Was able to quickly get off wetsuit and spray feet with water. What would you do differently?: Nothing...just go faster Bike
Comments: It was hard than you could imagine. After the 2nd loop, i seriously wanted to quit but I drove all the way from Los Angeles to do this. So quitting was not an option. I continually plugged along. I think I do alright considering. What would you do differently?: Plug harder Transition 2
Comments: pretty decent transition. What would you do differently?: be quicker Run
Comments: I felt I did alright. I just looked down and ran away. I never walked any portion and was proud to do it without any walking. There was one killer hill at the middle. What would you do differently?: race harder Post race
Warm down: Finished with the girlfriend waiting (thanxs Pen!). Had some water and juice. I was winded and somewhat pooped out. I walked to the transition area and got my tri stuff and bike and walked back as part of my cool down. Sat around and waited for the awards ceremony. What limited your ability to perform faster: better prepared for the swim and hills. This was a tougher sprint tri than most triathlons. It was challenging but fun. Event comments: I have mixed feelings about the race. I liked it and it was fun. I just didnt think it was the most organized. I dont want to be critical of the organization because any race you put on is a nightmare. The race was cancelled in August only a few days before the start. I did not like that. There wasnt really any vendors at the race. Regardless, the Amica people were there and seemed to make the best of it. I was happy finishing 1st in the Clydesdale Division. I hope to possibly come back next year. Almost I forgot, the volunteers were GREAT! Thanxs volunteers!! Last updated: 2011-09-12 12:00 AM

Went to a great sushi place the night before, I Love Sushi. Great restaurant and filled up on some rice and fish. Went to bed pretty early. Woke up at 430 am, prepared with a muffin, banana, and Muscle Milk.
Stretched and jumped into the nice warm Lake Las Vegas prior to the race.
