  • Comments: I have mixed feelings about the race. I liked it and it was fun. I just didnt think it was the most organized. I dont want to be critical of the organization because any race you put on is a nightmare. The race was cancelled in August only a few days before the start. I did not like that. There wasnt really any vendors at the race. Regardless, the Amica people were there and seemed to make the best of it. I was happy finishing 1st in the Clydesdale Division. I hope to possibly come back next year. Almost I forgot, the volunteers were GREAT! Thanxs volunteers!!

  • Comments: Disappointed that there was no anthem sung...after all it was 9/11! A little mess up with the wave start. NO ONE WAS MANNING THE TRANSITION AREA! WTH?! Seriously, ANYONE could just walk in there and snatch some good gear..not bikes, but more of Garmins, shoes, etc. The Olympics were STILL on the course for both the bike and the run...Serious disappointment. While I don't have any high end stuff (except for my CI, it's more expensive than a high priced bike!), I would still have wanted someone at Transition gate to check that the bib number matches the bike number like it did for IronGirl. Sunset racing does racing in a few states, and you would think that they would do better than this. Oh yeah - About 150 people got medals with ribbons. The others only got the medal part, no ribbon. That includes everyone on the Olympic. That sucked.

  • Comments: Great race, it was my first Triathlon. Pretty challenging course. Didn't do as well as I thought I would but very happy to finish and get started in endurance races.

  • Comments: I love Sunset Racing but really after so many events it still seems like they are disorganized. Long lines to check in on registration. Volunteers giving wrong directions and miscalculations...but I keep coming back because on race day it is just downright fun. That and you can't beat the scenery.

  • Comments: My first race so nothing else to compare it to. No finishers medals or tags :( I know for many people who do lots of events these aren't important but I was looking forward to one from my first race. I won my age group but wasn't able to stay for the awards so hoping they can mail out medal as I heard there were ones for that. Probably going to be the only time I win my AG so would have been nice to have been there! Talked to several friendly people before and after the race. My family and friends weren't at the race so no one to hang out with.

  • Comments: Looking forward to next year so that I can try and place in my age group. If I can perfect my run off the bike I will be able to do just that.

  • Comments: I will be back next year to see if I can improve my performance. I hope they will change the swim portion to a loop format versus an out and back. As well, have the race start earlier in the morning to reduce the heat factor. All staff were very friendly.

  • Comments: Good race overall. My wife had to take over one of the watering stations because the kids there were just goofing off and throwing water at each other. Lots of hills. My goal was to finish in under 2 hours, and I did so I am very happy about that. My personal best time. I couldhave cut 10 minutes off of my time if I had a better run. Something to work on for next year.

  • Comments: Chinzy finishers medal. Looks like a dogtag w/same kind of chain. Dogtag said "Triathlon finisher" not what where when.

  • Comments: It's funny but before the race started there were a group of people talking and laughing and they had said that the night before the weather man had said that if you are training for a marathon or a triathlon then to skip today because it was going to be just too hot!! We all got a good laugh out of it. I thought everyone at the race was super friendly and I had a great time meeting new Bt peeps and chatting with the ones I have already met. This is the first time I have ever gone to a race where I knew someone so that was great! I got to meet the race director and he told me that he looked at 20 years past weather and that the ave were in the 70's at race start and about the 90's for the Intermediate finishers. Therefore, he decided to start the race at 8am to give the out of towners a break and a chance to sleep in a bit. He said he was shocked at the weather too. He was a super nice person. I think I will do this race again next year if the weather is not so hot.
