Pre-race routine:

Drove in and picked up my bag at about 10:30. Sat in my truck until about 11:00 and then warmed up and stretched and got in line for the porta johns.
Event warmup:

Stretching mostly. No running as 13 miles is plenty for me to warm up.

What would you do differently?:

I train by HR so I am going to follow it in my next run if I do one over the winter and see how I do. I just wanted to push today so I did.

Warm down:

Stretched and walked. Got changed and got some lasagna and hit the road.

Pacing and race execution

Event comments:

Great race and event. Unless something important is on this date I will do it every year. It's a big "event" and that makes it fun.

HR was waay too high. I was running ok for the first 4 miles or so and then I got stupid and tried to go too fast and my hr was over 170 for a while and it killed me. I actually had to walk after mile 11 and 12 so I was disapointed by that but oh well I don't care that much and I wanted to try hard so I did.
Course: Loop through town and around the lake. Nice course
