Swim
Comments: For the 2nd race in a row, when I dove in the water my goggles started leaking and I had to stop and fix them twice. Need new goggles that fit me better I guess. Then I started swimming like crazy. Got way out of breath but kept going anyhow, breathing every 2. I rounded the buoys really great this time. Transition 1
Comments: Finally learned how to transition correctly and it paid off. I had the fastest female T1 time and the 6th fastest T1 of the day according to the results. I am very happy with this transition - especially considering there were no strippers so I had to get my own wetsuit off for the first time ever. It did get a little stuck on my ankles but I ripped it off easily and moved on. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Gender rank 5th out of 64 women. Happy with my bike performance. I was out of breath coming off the swim - then trying to put my shoes on while moving - but I kept pushing knowing it was short. And I wanted to see how my run would be off the new bike if I tried my hardest - so I put it all out there. Good ride. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Again, finally learning how to execute a good transition has paid off. I felt great about this one. 9th fastest T2 of the day, 4th fastest woman. Nice. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: I did as much as I could on the run. I pushed hard. It finally caught up with me - I hit my max with about a mile to go and I just had to back off - I was getting that VO2 max nausea hitting me, so I backed off a teeny little bit to see if I could recover my breathing enough to catch the woman in front of me. No such luck - she finished 9 seconds ahead. I did leave it out there - despite not negative splitting as I'd wanted, I felt okay about my run. What would you do differently?: Not sure... Post race
Warm down: Nothing good - just wandered around with water and bananas and talked. What limited your ability to perform faster: My swim and less so my run. Event comments: The race was late due to an accident on Rte 16, nothing you can do about that. But there really weren't enough volunteers. I loved the course - but would like more direction. The post race food was amazing. Loved that. The awards took forever with the whole team thing to calculate and then the tri and duo awards. That seemed a little disorganized. Overall I thought it was a great race - I loved the hometown feel and really enjoyed it. Last updated: 2011-09-27 12:00 AM

Stayed in Wolfeboro - Mike, Colin and I all racing. Up with plenty of time for breakfast and getting bikes all in. Oatmeal, milk and half a banana for breakfast. Drove to the site and set up my new and improved transition area.
Just got out on the bike to make sure all was ready given the issues on Thursday night with poor shifting. First race on the new bike. I didn't feel like fighting traffic on Rte 16 so my bike warmup was very week - just spinning around - a few spin ups and a couple high gear stand ups just to wake up. Then a very short run of about 5 mins with some skips and strides. Again, just to wake up. Much shorter and less formal than my usual warmups.
