Swim
Comments: wow, that was tough. Big breakers at the start. Felt like I wasn't making any progress and couldn't get into any rhythm because of breaking waves and surf. Definately over breathing but once I made it past the breakers, I was ok. Breathing didn't really recover very well but my goal was to get it done in 30mins since I'm a new swimmer so I was THRILLED I made it in 21m! What would you do differently?: DRILLS!DRILLS!DRILLS Transition 1
Comments: I was seriously beat after the swim and tried to get myself pulled together during the transition and not forget something important. What would you do differently?: move a bit faster and use the bike to recover Bike
Comments: good ride for me. What would you do differently?: keep up my strength training...stronger quads would have helped Transition 2
Run
Comments: I was exhausted and had to take walk breaks. Post race
Warm down: kept moving and drinking What limited your ability to perform faster: the swim kicked my a** and I never recovered. Event comments: My first Tri so I'm just happy to have survived! Last updated: 2011-10-16 12:00 AM

couldn't sleep. Up at 4:30. 2 cups of coffee. Oatmeal w/ nuts. Headed out and arrived around 6:30. Easy parking. Checked the sea first and started to worry. It was fairly rough for a newbie. Set up transition area (reset it up, and then did it again) . Finally decided it was okay. Got marked, ate a banana, drank water, put on wetsuit and walked to the beach.
Stretched alot, even got in the water quickly to get wet....wow those waves looked big.
