Run
Comments: Well within my pace for the first half. Kept my 1/3 interval until around the 16th mile and by the 20th mile was mostly walking, legs wear like rubber and felt like they would cramp any minute. Walked until the last two miles than then jogged at just above walk pace to the finish. Put on a shout kick last 100 meters What would you do differently?: Could use more training a longer distance longest training run was 20 miles three week prior to race. 20 mile peek may be OK but could have done it 2-3 weeks earlier and been able to do 2 or 3 repeats before the final taper before the race. Post race
Warm down: Walked out of finish area and then back to public restroom and put on my recover tights and walked to the refreshment tent. What limited your ability to perform faster: This was my first marathon and nit knowing what was to come. May have gone out a little fast. Event comments: By the time I got to the tent refreshment stations were closing down. TNT had 6 coaches out during the race during the second half they would run/walk along side some times for a mile or more. Last 6 miles I walked along with another TNT member to the finish. Great support. First race I've been in with any significant spectators, their cheering helped my continue along. Last updated: 2011-10-18 12:00 AM
