Pre-race routine:

The day before the race we went to the expo and picked up the packets. The hotel we stayed at was just a couple minute walk from the expo. We decided that we would walk to the race start on race morning.
Event warmup:

Not much warm up was needed after our mile walk from the hotel to the race start.

Comments:

My first 16 miles were pretty awesome. After that I seemed to fall apart. At about mile 22 I stopped to stretch my quads. That was stupid, as soon as I bent my leg back my hamstring cramped up. I fought to keep it from going into a full blown cramp and walked it off. Once I was able to walk again I started back running. By the time I got to the finish line I was running over 12 minute miles.
Post race
Warm down:

After the run you were escorted down the finish chute. We got finisher pictures, cookies, bananas, a cool sweatshirt, and a finisher hat. Lets see, The beer was good and free. I think we were able to get 3 or four for free. The irish stew was broth with a few diced potatos so I wasnt very impressed. I would have rather had pizza or even hot dogs.

Event comments:

This was a fun race. I would do it again. In fact I think Maria has already decided that it's on for next year.

Course: The course started south and went through some sort of either boy scout barracks or boot camp. We were able to run a cross a bridge a couple times and return back north past the start point. We went north up to a army fort and by a couple lighthouses that was pretty cool. We then ran south along side the beach to the finish line.
