Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4:30, showered, drank coffee, gatorade, and ate a big bowl of oatmeal. At Transition, ate half a banana, drank a little water
Swim
  • 16m 7s
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 58s / 100 yards
Comments:

swim went pretty well, but the visibility is so low, that I had to have my head up a little higher than I would have like, just so I could see if I was around someone, and how to get around them. Never felt completely relaxed, but the swim went well overall.
Transition 1
  • 02m 50s
Comments:

T1 time I thought was pretty good, not sure where I can get some extra time off, shoes could have went on a little faster. It was a long way to the bike mount
What would you do differently?:

just spend more time practicing transitions
Bike
  • 34m 16s
  • 11.37 miles
  • 19.91 mile/hr
Comments:

My odometer never registered any data, so was blind on the bike. Just went as hard as I could, and ended up having a pretty great bike ride. Stayed in the big ring the whole ride, got out of the saddle on the hill, and also when exiting those hair pin corners, to get back up to speed.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure that it didn't help me not knowing how fast I was going. It was all by feel, and it felt great.
Transition 2
  • 01m 39s
Comments:

It's a long way from the bike dismount, but my time here was still a little slower than last year. run shoes could have went on a little faster. Right calf was cramping a little on the start of the run.
Run
  • 25m 29s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

Had a good run, no problems on the hill. The temp this year was a lot cooler than in previous years, so that helped me a lot. I felt overall pretty good on the run, did have a stitch after the first mile, slowed a little to control it, then just kept picking up speed on the last half.
What would you do differently?:

Felt like I left it all on the course, and am happy with that.
