  • Comments: I went into this race severely undertrained, I was not motivated to carve out time to continue to train after Boulder 70.3. I've kept up the running, but only logged 25 miles on my bike the month of July. So, was just trying to see how little I could do and still have a good out come. Turns out you really do need to train if you want to do well! Ha!

  • Comments: Happy to have this one under my belt, slower than the last time I ran it, but I got the result I trained for, about 3 minutes slower than the last time, but over all I had a good experience.

  • Comments: This race is incredible. It is a sprint that feels like a HIM. The organizer does a great job and the participants feel like they've really accomplished something. There are tons of volunteers and a great finish line. Only complaint (and a small one at that) is that the Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy of prior years was replaced by M64 this year. Ick. However, it was 8:45 and I probably wouldn't have had a Leiny either.

  • Comments: Amy Downing puts together a he!! of a race! I love doing this one and will probably continue to do it. It is a women's only race and has an expo, after party that are top notch! There are volunteers all over the place! There are a few minor inconveniences with the race not being USAT such as women riding 2-3 abreast but they are very minor issues.

  • Comments: i love that this is a beginner friendly race, but for those of us with a bit more experience, this can become a huge problem on the bike course. i saw several crashes/near crashes due to the crowded conditions. also; the straps they used for the timing chips were a fail. i didn't want to have mine on any looser ... and yet it chafed my ankle. boo on that.

  • Comments: This is my first tri but I've done many races and this one is very well organized from the expo to the awards. The course is beautiful although the lake is a bit "green".

  • Comments: For what it is, this is a good race. This is probably the only tri some women will ever do, and I'm glad I did it. But I probably won't do it again - or, if I do, I'd enter the "elite" wave to get a head start on the crowd (and get a WAY closer rack spot). Parking was a pain in the neck. Getting out of transition after the race was a huge cluster as well. The course and transition setup was not entirely spectator friendly. As I said before, it's great to see so many women of all ages and shapes (and even breast cancer survivors) out there giving triathlon a shot. It's definitely a race more geared towards total beginners and casual triathletes.

  • Comments: The volunteers were amazing at this race and it was cool to see so many first timers working so hard. Also, the survivor wave was cool. One swim angle carried her survivor all the way to transition on her back. Very inspirational.

  • Comments: For my first ever tri, this was a good one. LOTS of people, fun, good organization. They ran out of water though *gasp* but had plenty of beer lol maybe that sends the wrong message.

  • Comments: It was mostly good, and they did have beer. Bike course was too easy, Run course was... odd with the uphill/downhill thing. But there were a few little things like -- the PortaPotties in the transition area were right up by the racks, so to wait in line for them, you were in people's transition areas. Worse, they were on top of the elite racks. And there were nowhere near enough of them. There were several things like that that just didn't jive real well. Listen to me - I'm already ready to move up to "real" races: "How come there are all these people standing around? Aren't they *athletes*?" :P It's an okay race for what it was. And I had a phenomenal performance. *shrug*
